This link from Planned Parenthood summarizes the three options available to you:
- You can choose to have a baby and raise the child.
- You can choose to have a baby and place the child for adoption.
- You can choose to end the pregnancy.
Another Planned Parenthood link for those considering pregnancy may help guide your choice.
Resources for Ending Your Pregnancy
The National Abortion Federation "believes in every woman's ability to make decisions about her reproductive health." They have a hotline for "unbiased, factual information about abortion."
NARAL Pro-Choice America provides information on state laws regarding abortion.
Find a Planned Parenthood Health Center or an abortion provider registered with the National Abortion Federation.
- If you know that you want to have an abortion, have it done as early as possible to minimize health risks and complications.
Resources for Continuing Your Pregnancy and Raising Your Child
Government Programs include
- Temporary Assistance to Needy Families (TANF)
- Women Infants & Children (WIC) Nutrition Program
- Medicaid
- Foods Stamps
- Housing Subsidies
All of these programs are administered by your state's Department of Social Services (and in major metropolitan areas, sometimes by the City or County). Use Google to search for information in your area. For example, if you live in Indiana, search for "Indiana WIC program."
Direct Service Organizations
"Completely confidential help

Maternity and baby clothes
Housing referrals
Referrals to social agencies
Referrals for professional counseling
Information on:
Prenatal development,

Birthright's website also explicitly states that Birthright "does not use 'scare tactics' or pressure, show abortion slides or pictures, picket or harass abortion clinics, evangelize, [or] lobby for legislative changes or engage in the public debate on abortion."
"a positive alternative to abortion by offering each mother facing the crisis of an unplanned pregnancy an individually-tailored program of practical support free of charge. Placing special emphasis on assisting college and working women, TNN's comprehensive program of support includes professional counseling, medical services, residential assistance, educational, employment and financial resources."
While embracing a pro-life perspective, it is an organization very much dedicated to finding common ground between the two sides of the abortion debate. You can read more about the philosophy behind The Nurturing Network in this article from Notre Dame magazine.
Keep in mind that the above organizations do not refer to abortion providers. However, you may want to find out what they offer in the event that you decide to continue the pregnancy.
Unless you have solidified a choice to continue the pregnancy, I recommend avoiding contact with Crisis Pregnancy Centers. Crisis Pregnancy Centers are often misleadingly packaged as unbiased, but in truth have a hard-line anti-abortion agenda.
